A 12-year-old boy and his younger brother live with their family in the foothills outside of Kabul, close to the first bus stop into the city. Growing up next to the city, full of bombs and sirens, violence has long been a part of their innocence. When their father leaves to seek safety in another country, Afshin and Benjamin's childhood comes to an end. Their story mingles with that of Abbas, a ruthless bus driver and loving father, who lives between truth and lies. Like whirling scenes from a bus window, a symphonic portrait is painted of a city in agony.
