The audience could vote for the films between 11 and 14 November in Toldi, Művész and Kino cinemas. The winner of the Audience Award of the 18th Verzió is Divas by Máté Kőrösi. 

Among the highest voted films are Courage (Aliaksey Paluyan, Germany, 2021), This Cannot Be Atoned For (László Halász, Hungary, 2021), A Thousand Girls Like Me (Sahra Mani, Afghanistan, France, 2018) and My Digital Nomad (Kata Oláh, Hungary, 2021).

This year's award winners were announced at the Award Ceremony on 13 November 2021 in Toldi cinema.

Following Tuesday’s opening ceremony, the 18th VERZIÓ International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, this year both in cinemas and online, was launched by director Dénes Nagy. Festival director Oksana Sarkisova and deputy-mayor Erzsébet Gy. Németh also gave welcoming speeches. All the films and programs are available in cinemas, 10–14 November, as well as online, 15–22 November

During the 18th Verzió Film Festival, several industry programs will be available to documentary filmmakers and non-professionals alike, in person and online. Panel discussions and masterclasses, presented by national and international experts, will take place 10–14 November, and will provide insight on reviving the film industry in a world shaken and transformed by the pandemic, the kind of projects supported by the Sundance Institute, and the steps to take towards making your first feature-length documentary

The 18th VERZIÓ Human Rights Documentary Film Festival showcases 64 films from 35 countries, in cinemas on 9–14 November, and online, 15–21 November. These documentaries bring us closer to current human rights issues, such as humans’ impact on the environment, ways to overcome physical-emotional trauma, young people striving for a better future, and stories from journalists, teenagers and activists who are challenging power and rigid systems.

The Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will go live for audiences, in cinemas and online, 9–21 November. The organizers of the 18th Verzió Festival have once again selected nearly sixty new films, representing the hottest international and Hungarian human rights documentaries, of which the majority will have their Hungarian premiere at the festival. The program will be available online and in cinemas nationwide, with screenings in Budapest and five other Hungarian cities. This year’s opening film, the HBO documentary Divas, directed by Máté Kőrösi, gives insight into the lives of three twenty-year-old girls from Budapest.
