Job offer: Audience development and social media manager

We are looking for the newest team member of the Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival who can contribute to the growth of the Festival's audience with their strong online and interpersonal communication skills.

  • preparing and implementing the communication strategy of the Festival's social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) in line with the general communication plan, adapting the strategy if necessary
  • developing an online advertising strategy and implementing the settings in practice
  • content production: regular short posts and event descriptions + occasional basic photo editing, uploading photo albums and videos, creating stories in English and Hungarian
  • preparing live check-ins on social media sites
  • planning and running an influencer promotion campaign
  • identifying and involving the target audience for each film in the festival's programme to achieve a wider social impact, in cooperation with volunteers and the festival team

Working conditions:

  • be self-employed (in the sense that you can give your own invoice as a freelancer)
  • from April to August approximately 12 hours/week; from September to the end of October, which is the major preparation period for the festival, approx. 20 hours/week; in November, during the festival, ca. 40 hours per week, including occasionally working late hours or at the weekends

  • excellent communication and problem-solving skills, proactivity
  • regular communication with staff members
  • openness and commitment to human rights


  • up-to-date knowledge of Facebook, Instagram and YouTube advertising tools
  • min. 1 year of relevant experience in managing social media platforms
  • in addition to native Hungarian, excellent oral and written English
  • creative, individual and subject-sensitive writing skills; respect for spelling rules
  • excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to work responsibly, respect deadlines
  • knowledge of the relevant local and worldwide NGOs
  • advantage: degree in communication and media studies or marketing, experience in organising cultural events, general knowledge of the cultural sector
