Fantasy and art, vitality in an endless war, the absurdity of colonialism, the hidden history of the technology we carry in our pockets, and a woman who refuses to be silenced. Five films, five radically different cinematic languages, five stories from contemporary Africa—including films that no longer speak about Africa from the outside, but reclaim the right to hold the camera and tell their own stories.

Free, bold, playful, and surprising, these films do not tell us what to think, but challenge us to look differently. Africa is not an exotic postcard, a distant continent, or a story already written. It is alive, it is now. You have to see it to believe it!
