Háborús műsor

Andreas Dalsgaard több mint egy évtizede rendez dokumentumfilmeket. Antropológiát tanult az Aarhus Egyetemen és a Paris Diderot Egyetemen, és filmrendezést a Dán Nemzeti Filmiskolában. Díjnyertes filmjeit már világszerte több mint 200 fesztiválon bemutatták. Az Elk Film produkciós vállalat társalapítója, valamint filmes és színházi projektekben is részt vesz íróként és rendezőként.

Obaidah Zytoon 1976-ban született a szíriai Zabadani-ban. Angol irodalmat tanult a Damaszkuszi egyetemen mielőtt elkezdte tevékenységét, mint rádiós műsorvezető és producer Szíriában és nemzetközi téren is. 2008-ban az Obaidah elvállalta első dokumentumfilmjének a forgalmazását, a Through Women’s Eyes-t. A szíriai felkelést követően 2011-ben társas vállalkozásként létrehozta a szíriai aktivista művészek kollektív egyesületét, a Waw Al-Wasel-t, amely számtalan multimédiás művészetet és rövidfilmet készít a szíriai konfliktushoz kapcsolódva. Ezen felül számtalan szíriai fiatalnak segített és nyújtott tréninget, hogy be tudjanak kerülni média és rádió produkciókba. Obaidah első saját rendezése a The War Show.

Várakozás

Emil Langballe 1982-ben született, Aarhusban és New Yorkban tanult televíziós újságírást és videógyártást, mielőtt diplomát szerzett dokumentumfilm-rendezésből a British National Film and Television School-ban. Diplomamunkáját, a “Beach Boy”-t (2013) világszerte bemutatták, és olyan fesztiválokon díjazták, mint Karlovy Vary, Thessaloniki, Tampere és a Hot Docs. Azóta Emil már rendezett egy gyerekeknek szóló dokumentumfilm-sorozatot is, Josefine’s Farm (CPH:DOX 2015) címmel. A The Wait az első hosszabb dokumentumfilmje.

Last Men in Aleppo

Firas Fayyad is an award-winning Syrian filmmaker. He has directed, edited and produced several films, both documentary and fiction. He has participated in international film festivals and received recognition for his work about contemporary Syrian issues and the political transformation in the Arab world. His latest film, Last Men in Aleppo, won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the 2017 Sundance FilmFestival; the prize for Most Innovative Documentary at the second annual Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards; the IDA Courage Under Fire Award and received two nominations from Cinema Eye Honors.

The Wait

Emil Langballe (b.1982) studied broadcast journalism and video production in Aarhus and New York before earning an MA in documentary filmmaking at the British National Film and Television School. His MA film, Beach Boy (2013) has been shown worldwide and was awarded in festivals like Karlovy Vary, Thessaloniki, Tampere and Hot Docs. Emil has directed the children’s doc series, Josefine’s Farm (CPH:DOX 2015). The Wait is his first, longer documentary film.

The War Show

Andreas Dalsgaard has directed documentaries for over a decade. Educated in anthropology at Aarhus University and Paris VII, and film directing at The Danish National Film School, his award-winning films have been shown at more than 200 festivals worldwide. Dalgsaard is also a co-founder of the production company Elk Film, and writes and directs fiction for both film and theater.

Obaidah Zytoon was born in Zabadani, Syria in 1976. She studied English literature at the University of Damascus before becoming a radio host and producer, working both in Syria and internationally. In 2008, Obaidah produced her first documentary film, Through Women’s Eyes. Following the 2011 Syrian uprising, Obaidah co-founded the Syrian artist-activist collective Waw Al-Wasel, which produces multi-media art and short films related to the Syrian conflict. She has also coached and trained young Syrians entering media and radio production. The War Show is Obaidah’s first film as a director.

Dream Empire

David Borenstein is an American director currently based in Copenhagen. He has directed films for ARTE, Al Jazeera English, Horisonts, NYTimes, and more are underway. He was a cinematographer and producer for the Sundance-funded film, The Hand that Feeds, which won the audience award at the Full Frame Film Festival. A China scholar, he received PhD training in Anthropology at the City University of New York. He began developing China Dreamland while on a Fulbright scholarship in China to study urbanization and real estate speculation. David speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.
