Meuthen's Party

Marc Eberhardt holds a BA in German Philology and Philosophy from the University of Potsdam. He studied at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, and is currently studying documentary filmmaking at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg.

Occupation 1968

Stephan Komandarev studied directing at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia. His films, The Balloon (1997), Dog’s Home (2000), Bread over the Fence (2002), Alphabet of Hope (2003), The Judgement (2014), and Directions (2017) were awarded by numerous prestigious festivals.

Marie Elisa Scheidt studied documentary film in Munich and Toronto. Her films Loly H (2013), Sobota (2014), and Our Wildest Dreams (2017) have been screened and awarded at numerous major film festivals around the world.

Linda Dombrovszky graduated as a film and television director in 2013. She has directed a music documentary, image films, non-commercial films, and a reality series. Her documentaries and short films attended and received awards at several festivals.

Magdalena Szymkow is a documentary filmmaker, screenwriter and film archives researcher with a journalistic background. Her film My House Without Me (2012), a cinematic essay about displacement, was nationally broadcasted, awarded and screened at festivals all over the world.

Evdokia Moskvina studied film production at the Sorbonne University in Paris. In 2011 she directed the film Our Dreams Come True, which was successfully presented at the Cannes festival. Currently, Evdokia is post-producing a documentary filmed in Syria in 2016, a story about civilians in the war.

The Russian Job

Petr Horký studied journalism in Prague. He graduated in photojournalism in London, later moved to Berlin and then Prague where he worked for economic periodicals. His job exposed him to a wide range of issues, one of them was a Russian story which inspired him to make the documentary The Russian Job.

Untitled

Michael Glawogger was born in Graz, Austria, and studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Vienna Film Academy. He started as an assistant camera operator, and later worked as a cinematographer, screenwriter, and director. He made numerous internationally-acclaimed shorts, documentaries, and feature films. He had recently devoted himself to literary writing. Michael Glawogger died in Monrovia, Liberia, in April of 2014 while shooting Untitled.

Monika Willi is a film editor who has worked with Michael Glawogger, Michael Haneke, Barbara Albert, and Florian Flicker. She was nominated for the Austrian Film Prize for her work on Whores’ Glory (Glawogger, 2011), and the German Film Prize for The White Ribbon (Haneke, 2009). She received the Austrian Film Prize for Best Film Editing for The Dead and the Living (Barbara Albert, 2012), and the Filmplus Award for Best Feature Film Editing for The White Ribbon (as well as for Barbara Eder’s Thank You for Bombing [2016]).

The Waldheim Waltz

Ruth Beckermann studied journalism and art history in Vienna, Tel Aviv and New York, and earned her doctorate in 1977 at the University of Vienna. She contributed as a journalist to several Austrian and Swiss magazines. In 1978 she cofounded the distribution company, Filmladen, in which she was active for seven years. Since 1985 she works as a writer and filmmaker. Her film The Dreamed Ones was screened widely and won several awards. Her latest film, The Waldheim Waltz, won, among other prizes, the Glashütte-Original Documentary Award at Berlinale (2018).

Watani: My Homeland

Marcel Mettelsiefen is a director, cameraman, photographer and producer. His films on the civil war in Syria, such as Syria: Children on the Frontline (2014), Children on the Frontline: The Escape (2016) and Watani: My Homeland (2016), earned him critical praise and recognition. Mettelsiefen won two BAFTA and two Emmy awards, and was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Documentary Short Subject for Watani: My Homeland.

Hámos Gusztáv képzőművész, kurátor, szerző és kiadó. Filmek, videók, fotográfiák és installációk alkotója, aki olyan helyeken állított ki, mint a Documenta, a Velencei Biennale, a Ludwig Múzeum Budapest. Filmjeit és videóit többek között a Tate Modern London, a ZKM Karlsruhe, a Triennale of Photography Hamburg, a 63 Mostra Internazionale d’arte cinematografica di Venezia és az YBCA San Francisco vetítette. Yossi Aviram izraeli író és rendező, 1971-ben született Jeruzsálemben. Szülővárosában szerezte meg diplomáját, a Sam Spiegel Film & Television School-ban. Yossi Aviram kettéválasztja a karrierjét, megkülönbözteti azokat a munkákat, amelyekben, mint operatőr vett részt és a saját rendezéseit. 1998-ban, a Year of Israel in France lehetősége kapcsán részt vett egy kulturális csereprogramban a jól ismert francia filmiskolával, a La Fémis-el. Az itt töltött négy hét alatt megrendezte második rövidfilmjét, az Anna-t. Első filmes munkája, a The Dune a Haifa Filmfesztiválon megnyerte a Legjobb Elsőfilmes díjat illetve beválasztották a San Sebastian és a San Francisco-ban helyet kapó filmfesztiválokra is.

Schrott

Mészáros Balázs 1991-ben született Dunaújvárosban. Korábban videós újságíróként dolgozott, majd 2017-ben diplomázott a Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem dokumentumfilm-rendező mesterszakán Almási Tamás és Kékesi Attila osztályában.
