AUDIENCE AWARD

Audience could vote on films until 19 November. After watch this year’s films, online visitors could leave their rating at our website. The winner of the audience’s favorite film will feature in our year-round programs, and will be made available for further screenings in Hungarian high schools and/or film clubs.

HUMAN RIGHTS FILM AWARD

The Student Jury is selected on a competitive basis and is comprised of five university students who demonstrate a commitment to human rights and an interest in documentary cinema. Together, they will decide the film which will receive the Human Rights Film Award from this year’s International Competition. The director of the winning film will receive a €1000 prize.

Best Human Rights Film: Welcome to Chechnya (USA, d. David France)

Human Rights Film Award - Special Mention: The Earth Is Blue as an Orange (Ukraine, Lithuania, d. Iryna Tsilyk)


STUDENT/DEBUT FILM AWARD

An international jury will award the best film in the Student/Debut Film Competition based on professional excellence and creative approach. The director of the winning film will receive a prize of €1000 to support their further professional development.

Best Student/Debut Film: Sonny (Poland, d. Paweł Chorzępa)

Student/Debut Film Award - Special Mention: Stunned, I Remain Alert (Brasil, d. Lucas H. Rossi dos Santos és Henrique Amud)


BEST HUNGARIAN FILM AWARD

For the first time in Verzió history, a competition for the Best Hungarian Documentary Award has been announced. The winning film will be decided upon by an international jury. The director of the winning film will receive a prize of €1000.

Best Hungarian Film: Give Me Shelter (Hungary, r. Mihály Schwechtje)
