VR and Immersive Media Section of the Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival
Budapest, November 2025
Vektor is the immersive section of Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. This year the programme expands its scope to a wider range of immersive formats — including augmented and mixed reality, spatial video, and installation-based immersive format — that make us to reflect on how we inhabit, remember, or interact with personal and collective realities in digital space.
This year, Vektor is particularly interested in works that reflect on the notion of ‘trace’ — whether digital, emotional, political, spatial, or ecological. How do immersive experiences leave marks on memory, on bodies, on places? What remains after the moment of immersion ends? Can presence itself be considered a form of impact, or is there something beyond that we take with us and that has an effect on our sociocultural environment? We are looking for works that explore these liminal states and open up critical perspectives on immersion, connection, and absence.
Vektor is looking for works that encourage audiences to engage in new, embodied ways with various media. We welcome submissions from artists, designers, developers, and storytellers working with VR and other types of immersive media.
We accept submissions of:
- interactive or narrative VR experiences
- site-specific or spatial AR works
- immersive video (360°, volumetric, multichannel, etc.)
- installation-based or hybrid new media formats
- experimental immersive games and sensory environments
Deadline for submissions: 15 July 2025.
Selected works will be exhibited in November 2025 as part of the 22nd Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival which is going to take place between 11-19 November 2025 in Budapest.
