Hazafias lecke

Filip Jacobson dokumentumfilm-rendező, filmtudományból diplomázott a Lodzi Egyetemen, és rendezést tanult a Gdynia Film School-ban, Lengyelországban. Jelenleg Kölnben tanul az Academy of Media Arts-on. Részt vett egy diákcsereprogramon az EICTV-nél Kubában, valamint különböző workshopokon, például: EsoDoc Workshops, Goshort Talent Campus, Polska Doc, illetve a Berlinale Talent Campus. Dolgozik társadalmi dokumentumfilmes projektekben, melyek internetalapú projektekben és dokumentumfilmszerű formákban keresnek új kifejezési módokat. Szervezett filmes workshopokat gyerekeknek Törökországban, Romániában és Lengyelországban. Első rövidfilmje, a Walk, elnyerte a diákzsűri díját a Krakkói Filmfesztiválon 2012-ben. 2015-ben Angelika Hart művésszel egy webdokumentumfilmet hozott létre: www.Bobkowski-co-dalej.pl. A filmet Franciaországban forgatták, és egy lengyel író, Andrzej Bobkowski utazásán alapul. Nemrég fejezte be első egészestés filmje, a Foreigner forgatását Kubában.

Aleppo, a végsőkig

Firas Fayyad díjnyertes szíriai filmrendező. Számtalan dokumentumfilmet és játékfilmet jegyez rendezőként, vágóként és producerként is. Részt vett nemzetközi filmfesztiválokon, és elismerésben részesült a jelenkori szíriai problémákat és az arab világban zajló politikai változásokat feldolgozó munkásságáért. Legutóbbi filmje, az Aleppo, a végsőkig (Last Men in Aleppo) 2017-ben a Sundance Filmfesztiválon elnyerte a zsűri nagydíját a legjobb dokumentumfilmért; a leginnovatívabb dokumentumfilm díját a második éves Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards-on; az IDA “Courage Under Fire” díját; illetve két “Cinema Eye Honors” jelölést is kapott.

Háborús műsor

Andreas Dalsgaard több mint egy évtizede rendez dokumentumfilmeket. Antropológiát tanult az Aarhus Egyetemen és a Paris Diderot Egyetemen, és filmrendezést a Dán Nemzeti Filmiskolában. Díjnyertes filmjeit már világszerte több mint 200 fesztiválon bemutatták. Az Elk Film produkciós vállalat társalapítója, valamint filmes és színházi projektekben is részt vesz íróként és rendezőként.

Obaidah Zytoon 1976-ban született a szíriai Zabadani-ban. Angol irodalmat tanult a Damaszkuszi egyetemen mielőtt elkezdte tevékenységét, mint rádiós műsorvezető és producer Szíriában és nemzetközi téren is. 2008-ban az Obaidah elvállalta első dokumentumfilmjének a forgalmazását, a Through Women’s Eyes-t. A szíriai felkelést követően 2011-ben társas vállalkozásként létrehozta a szíriai aktivista művészek kollektív egyesületét, a Waw Al-Wasel-t, amely számtalan multimédiás művészetet és rövidfilmet készít a szíriai konfliktushoz kapcsolódva. Ezen felül számtalan szíriai fiatalnak segített és nyújtott tréninget, hogy be tudjanak kerülni média és rádió produkciókba. Obaidah első saját rendezése a The War Show.

Frissen a szemétbe

Valentin Thurn 1963-ban született Stuttgartban, jelenleg házas és három gyermek apukája. Thurn szellemi atyja és rendezője számtalan televíziós dokumentumfilmnek, amelyek a következő csatornákon futottak: a német ARD és ZDF, a francia-német Arte, a Deutsche Welle TV, a Transtel, a Swiss Television DRS, valamint helyi csatornákon, mint a SWR, WDR, NDR, BR, ORB és a HR. 2003-ban megalapította filmprodukciós cégét, a THURN FILM-et, amelynek központja a németországi Kölnben található. Thurn szerzőként publikált a Die Woche, a Die Zeit, a Natur & Kosmos és a Merian magazinok hasábjaira, illetve rádióadásoknak is a szellemi atyja. Különböző témákban írt könyveket, publikált az elsivatagosodásról WüstenErde címmel, a kelet-európai környezeti kérdésekről Klessenfeind Natur címmel, illetve nevéhez fűződik a Directory of Environmental NGO’s in Central and Eastern Europe című munka. A következő nemzetközi konferenciákon és workshopokon találkozhatunk vele oktatóként: a Goethe Intézetben Mumbaiban, a Miguel Alemán Alapítvány keretében Mexikóvárosban, az Ökoturizmus kongresszuson Johannesburgban, a Guayaquilon Ecuadorban, az RTL Journalistenschule-on Németországban, Ecopresscenter keretében Macedóniában, Third World Journalists Networkön és a The Ethics in Economy Networkön Németországban, a Fachhochschule-on Kölnben és az International Congress of Investigative Journalists konferecián a 2008-as lillehammeri események helyszínén Norvégiában. Thorn tagja az International Federation of Environmental Journalists alapítóbizottságának, és általános titkári pozíciót is ellátott a szervezetnél 1993-tól 2001-ig. Ezenfelül tagja a Reporters without bordersnek, a Netzwerk Recherche-nek (nyomozói tudósító hálózat) és az AGDOK-nak (német dokumentumfilmes egyesület).

Aislado

Jo Müller was born and raised in Essen, and graduated from Gymnasium Essen-Werden in 2011. His first experiences in visual media were gathered through his internships with a photography studio and television production company. In 2012 he did a voluntary year of social work, living and working in the Dominican Republic, and upon his return to Germany, took up studies in cinematography at ifs international filmschule köln. Müller graduated with a Bachelor of Arts specialized in Visual Arts. His first short films, Sockenwäsche (2014, 5’) and Update Required (2016, 3’), animated films, allowed him to try out the roles of writer and director. His first feature-length film, Aislado (82’), completed in 2016, is a documentary film he spent three months filming in the Dominican Republic. He has worked at bildundtonfabrik (btf) in Cologne since September 2016.

Zoltan M. Geller was born 1991 in Sombor (Serbia), but was raised in the beautiful provinces of Southern Germany. After his high school graduation he voluntarily served in the civilian service for six months at a school for disabled children. After an internship as an assistant cameraman at a Munich-based production company he started an internship in the editing department, where he discovered his dedication to film editing. In 2012 he attended the study program, “Editing Picture And Sound“, at ifs international film school in Cologne, and graduated with a BA in 2016. Since 2016, he has worked as a freelance film editor and member of the German film editors association BFS.

No Country for the Poor

László Bihari has designed online campaign videos for non-profit organizations for the past nine years. He is one of the founders of the creative team, ZPOK. This is their first documentary film production.

LEAVE/STAY: Sweet Home

Loránd Balázs Imre is a co-founder of SpeakEasy Project, and founder of SpeakEasy Project Berlin. He has worked on a number of documentary films since 2012, and is the director and producer of the Erasmus EuroMedia Awarded documentary series, LEAVE/STAY.

Bálint Tusor began his film career in 2003, and has since worked on numerous international productions as assistant editor. He completed his Masters in film and television at the National Film and Television School in 2012, and in the last five years has mainly worked as a documentary film editor. Verzio will screen his first documentary directorial debut, co-directed with Loránd Balazs Imre.

Alexander Kvatashidze was born in 1977 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1996 he graduated from Nikoladze Art College with a qualification as a sculptor. In 2001 he earned his BA degree in Art and Humanities at Tbilisi State University. In 2005-2006, Kvatashidze studied at the film department of California State University in San Jose. Since 2006 Alexander has worked as a director, DoP or producer on various projects, most of which were documentaries. He founded Lokokina Studio in 2009.
