Khan's Flesh

Kristina Savutsina was born in 1989, in Riga, into a Belarusian family. From 1993 to 2014 she lived in Belarus. In 2011, she graduated with a degree in cultural studies, in Minsk. Since 2015 she has been studying film and fine arts at the University of Fine Arts, Hamburg. In her work, Kristina deals with regulatory politics and its concrete manifestations in Belarus. She lives and works in Hamburg.

Midwives

Snow Hnin Ei Hlaing has worked as a freelance filmmaker in Myanmar since 2006, acting as director, producer, editor, and sound recordist after attending film schools in both Myanmar and Germany. Her short, Burmese Butterfly played festivals in over 20 countries, and Period@Period won for best short at the Wathan Film Festival. Midwives is her feature documentary debut.

Vera Krichevskaya is the co-founder of Dozhd (TV Rain) Russia, the only independent, private television channel in Russia. She is also an award-winning television director, having worked for NTV and 24DOC as a senior producer and director.

Angels of Sinjar

Auteur-director Hanna Polak (1967, Katowice, Poland) has Oscar and Emmy nominations under her belt for Children of Leningradsky, and a Producer Guild of America nomination for Something Better To Come, amongst many other awards and accolades. Her emotional bond with her protagonists allows her to deliver visceral, poetic films that celebrate the power of the human spirit, and portray the beauty of humanity in the most adverse circumstances.

It's All Good

Born in Caracas, Tuki Jencquel holds a BA in Film and TV from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and an MBA from IESA, Venezuela. He was the first assistant director on Secrets of the Tribe, by Jose Padilha, and has worked as an assistant director in film and advertising. He is currently working on his next documentary, an intimate portrait of his mother, who campaigns to legalize euthanasia in France.

Kinshasa Makambo

Dieudo Hamadi Kisanganiban, a Kongói Demokratikus Köztársaságban született 1984-ben. 2005 és 2008 között orvosi tanulmányokat folytatott, majd több dokumentumfilmes workshopon vett részt. Kinshasa Makambo

Dieudo Hamadi was born in Kisangani (Democratic Republic of the Congo) in 1984, and studied medicine in 2005-2008. He then attended several documentary workshops. Hamadi is the author of two short documentaries, Ladies in Waiting and Zero Tolerance that caught the attention of festivals in Europe (Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam) and North America (Toronto). Ladies In Waiting received the Pierre and Yolande Perrault scholarship at Cinema du Réel (Paris) in 2009. In 2013, Atalaku, his first feature-length documentary about the 2011 election campaign in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, won the Joris Ivens award for best first film, Best Foreign Film at the San Diego Black Film Festival (USA), the Jury Prize at FIDADOC (Agadir, Morocco) and three other awards. In 2014, National Diploma received both the International Prize of the SCAM and the Potemkin award at Cinéma du Réel (France), and was selected at TIFF (Toronto) and nearly 60 festivals worldwide. In 2015, Mama Colonel, his latest film, received assistance in post-production from the Sundance Institute and IDFA Bertha Fund.

A jövő gyermekei

Franz Böhm Stuttgartban született, 16 éves korában rendezte első filmjét, a Mások harmóniája-t. A Német Ifjúsági Filmdíj nyitófilmjének választotta Karácsonyi jókívánságok című második filmjét, amelynek készítése során Franz hajléktalanságot megtapasztaló fiatalokkal élt együtt. A Nemzeti Film & Televíziós Iskola és a 1185 Films produkciós cég számára készített munkái óta új projekteket készít elő Londonban. A jövő gyermekei az első egész estés filmje.

Dear Future Children

Franz Böhm is from Stuttgart, Germany. At 16, he made his first film as a director, Harmonie der Anderen. Franz' next project found him living with youth experiencing homelessness, the resulting documentary, Christmas Wishes, was selected as the opening film for the German Youth Film Awards. Following his work for the National Film & Television School and the documentary production company, 1185 Films, Franz is currently developing new projects in London. Dear Future Children is his debut feature film.
