Arica

Lars Edman Chilében született és Svédországban nőtt fel, majd visszatért Dél-Amerikába, hogy a Valparaiso Filmiskolában tanuljon. Első filmje, a Toxic Playground (Mérgező játszótér) 6 nemzetközi díjat nyert, több mint 30 fesztiválon vetítették és Európa-szerte több televízió is levetítette. A film befejezése óta Lars újraképezte magát, most beszédterapuetaként dolgozik Észak-Norvégiában. Az Arica a második egész estés dokumentumfilmje. Ebben Lars és rendezőtársa az első filmjükben elkezdett történethez térnek vissza, miután tizenöt évig követték az aricai lakosok életét.

William Johansson Kalén rendezőként, szerkesztőként, operatőrként és vágóként 2006 óta számos dokumentumfilm, dokumentumfilm-sorozat és televíziós program elkészítésében vesz részt. 2009-ben társrendezője volt a díjnyertes Toxic Playground dokumentumfilmnek, majd 2015-től producerként kezdett dolgozni, és a Laika Film & Television társtulajdonosa lett. Jelenleg producere több készülő Laika produkciónak is, valamint egy, építészetről szóló dokumentumfilmnek, amelyet 2022 elején mutatnak majd be. A Cold Case Hammarskjöld című dokumentumfilm, valamint a Beauty And The Dogs és a The Man Who Sold His Skin játékfilmek társproducere volt. A 2021 tavaszán bemutatott jordán fikciós Farha svéd producere.

Arica

Born in Chile and raised in Sweden, Lars returned to South America to attend the Valparaiso Film School. Lars’ first film was Toxic Playground which won 6 international awards, screened in over 30 international festivals and was broadcast on TV across Europe. Since completing Toxic Playground, Lars has retrained as a speech and language therapist and now lives in the north of Norway. Arica is his second feature documentary, in which Lars and his co-director revisits the theme of their first film, after following the lives of the inhabitants of the Chilean town.

William Johansson Kalén has worked as a Director, Editor in chief, DoP and Film editor on a number of documentaries, documentary series and TV-programs since 2006. He co-directed the award-winning documentary Toxic Playground in 2009 and started as a film producer in 2015 when he became a shareholder of Laika Film & Television. He is currently producing an artistic documentary about architecture that will premiere in early 2021 and producing a couple of Laika’s projects in development. He has worked as assistant producer on the documentary Cold Case Hammarskjöld and the fiction Beauty And The Dogs and The Man Who Sold His Skin. He is also the Swedish producer in the Jordanian fiction film Farha that premiered in spring 2021.

Heddy Honigmann is considered one of world’s best documentary filmmakers. Her films (short & long fictions, short & long documentaries) have travelled around the world receiving major awards and important retrospectives (Toronto, the Museum of Modern Art in NY, Paris, Berlin, Lisboa, Minneapolis, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Ontario, Utrecht, Grasz, Chicago and Berkeley, among others). She has received many lifetime achievement awards, like the Living Legend Award at IDFA (2013), the Dortmund Honorary Award for Documentary Film (2013), the Hot Docs Outstanding Achievement Award (2007), the San Francisco Films Society’s Golden Gate Persistence of Vision Award (2007), the J. Van Praag Award from the Humanist Association (2005) in the Netherlands, the award for her Contribution to the Art of Documentary Filmmaking at the Thessaloniki Film Festival (2004), and the Jan Cassies Award for her whole oeuvre from the Dutch National Fund for Cultural Films for Television (2003) in the Netherlands.

Caroline Troedsson is a documentary director and cinematographer based in Sweden. She has recently worked as a cinematographer for Only The Devil Lives Without Hope (2020), Every Face Has a Name (2015) and Becoming Zlatan (2016).

Deeyah Khan Emmy- és Peabody-díjas dokumentumfilm-rendező. 2016-ban ő lett az UNESCO első jószolgálati nagykövete a művészi szabadságért és kreativitásért. Deeyah Khan is an Emmy and Peabody award-winning documentary film director. In 2016, she became the first UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for artistic freedom and creativity. Her documentary, Banaz: A Love Story (2012), chronicles the life and death of a young, British Kurdish woman murdered by her family in a so-called honor killing. Khan's second film, Jihad, involved two years of filming with Islamic extremists, convicted terrorists and former jihadis. Khan has also produced a number of critically-acclaimed albums, including Listen to the Banned, a compilation that brought together musicians from around the world who have been subject to persecution, censorship and imprisonment.
