Kettévált ország

Papp Gábor Zsigmond az ELTÉ-n diplomázott történelem és magyar szakon, majd a Színház- és Filmművészeti Főiskolán. 1990-91-ben az Európai Közösség ösztöndíjasa volt a Bolognai Egyetemen. 1996 óta szabadúszó dokumentumfilmes, rendez tévéműsorokat és rádiójátékokat, továbbá angol és olasz gyerekkönyveket fordít.

A Woman Captured

Bernadett Tuza-Ritter is a Hungarian director and editor. Her special interest is creative documentaries and fiction films. Her first feature-length documentary, A Woman Captured, was invited to the competition program of the 2018 Sundance Festival. The European Film Academy selected it as one of the 15 best documentaries of the year.

Your Name

János Domokos is a documentary filmmaker and producer who received the Béla Balázs Prize. He started making films in 1991. At the beginning of his career he made experimental documentaries, it being typical for the time, but experimentation followed in all of his films. He has also worked as a festival organizer, made TV programs, music videos, short and feature, as well as subjective and factual documentaries.

A Country Divided

Gábor Zsigmond Papp graduated from Budapest’s ELTE with a degree in History and Literature, and the Hungarian Film Academy of Budapest. In 1990–1991 he won the Scholarship of the European Community to the University of Bologna. Since 1996 he has worked as a freelance filmmaker, and a director of documentaries, TV programs and radio plays. He also translates English and Italian children books.

Don’t Stare at Me!

Dávid Balla studied at the Budapest Metropolitan University, and the Werk Academy. He has worked with MáSzinház since 2013. His short debut film, Stray Soul (2014) was followed by his MA diploma film, Welcome Home (2017).

Easy Lessons

Dorottya Zurbó graduated from Budapest’s ELTE, with a degree in Film Studies. In 2014 she completed the DocNomads, international documentary filmmaker MA program at the Hungarian Film Academy, where she is currently completing her PhD. Her short film, Distance (2017), was selected for the competition program of the Jihlava International Documentary Festival. Her documentary, The Next Generation (2017, co-director), premiered at the IDFA Competition for First Appearance.

Edie - A Dance for Mengele

Eszter Cseke and Andras S. Takacs have produced over 70 documentaries, across 5 continents, in the past 10 years. Their films have drawn the attention of the international press, from the Financial Times to the BBC, and have received the Golden Nymph Award in Monte Carlo, the Gold Plaque in Chicago, and have been presented at festivals from Karlovy Vary to Sarajevo.

Granny Project

Bálint Révész started working in the film industry as a child actor. After university he became an editor, writer, producer and director. In 2012 he graduated at the University of Brighton, and had already received awards in South Korea and Japan. His production company, the Gallivant Film, produces feature films, documentaries and develops international co-productions. His film Granny Project premiered internationally at DOK Leipzig and won the MDR award.

I Forgot to Bring Flower Again

Boglárka Bicsák graduated from the Eszterházy Károly University in 2018, and currently studies at the Film and Theatre Academy in Budapest. She is the director of Cold Twigs (2017) and I Remember Clearly (2018).

KARMAS/Bagázs

Flóra Chilton finished her studies as a cinematographer at the Budapest Metropolitan University. She was one of the cinematographers of the film, Its Not the Time of My Life (Ernelláék Farkaséknál), which won the Crystal Globe in Karlovy Vary. Chilton is currently working as an independent director.
