Give Me Shelter
Social worker Renáta Toszecky manages a women’s shelter in Hungary, operated by Hungarian Baptist Aid. The clients in the shelter are victims of human trafficking who were once forced into prostitution. Social workers at the shelter are trying to help redirect these women's lives and enable them to start anew with their children. The film follows Renáta as she carries out her everyday tasks supporting three battered women, and gives us a glimpse into the challenges of social work.
Mihály Schwechtje is an award-winning filmmaker, theatre director and university lecturer. His recent works address the problems of modern socitey, his protagonists are victims of the social structure. His fist feature fiction film focuses on the issue of bullying in school and on the internet. He is currently developing his second feature fiction, which has been selected to the Nipkow Program in Berlin. He lectures at the University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest in Hungary.
