Bio:
María Carrión is the Executive Director of FiSahara, a film festival held annually in the Sahrawi refugee camps. She was the director of the independent news program Democracy Now! in New York and has collaborated with media outlets such as BBC Radio, The Progressive, TVE and EL PAÍS. She is the former communication advisor for Amnesty International USA and its General Secretariat, in addition to working with human rights organizations such as RADDHO, African Assembly for the Defense of Human Rights in Africa (Senegal) and CEDHU, Ecumenical Commission for Human Rights (Ecuador). She has worked as a writer on documentary films such as Condemned to the Death Row (2003).
