Masterclass with director Judit Oláh and producers Sára László (Campfilm) and Hanka Kastelicová from HBO Europe Documentaries.

The creators analyze the birth story of one of the most anticipated Hungarian documentaries of the year, from the development, through the process of filming to the completion of the post-production.

Judit Oláh
Director

Director Judit Oláh completed her MA in film studies at Eötvös Loránd University in 2014. Parallel with her academic studies in film theory and history, she attended the faculty of filmmaking. During her studies, she worked on several films in different positions. With the support of the Hungarian National Film Fund, she made her first short film Beauty Queen in 2015, which was screened at several festivals. Since then, apart from working on television documentaries and live-action shorts, she has been working on her first feature-length documentary, Return to Epipo. Judit is a Nipkow fellow. She participated in the Archidoc, Eurodoc and Dok Incubator workshops, and the Midpoint 2019 short-film script development training program. She is a script-consultant trainee at Midpoint Feature Launch 2020.

Sára László
Producer, co-founder of Campfilm, Hungary

Sára László graduated from the film director’s faculty of the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, Hungary, and completed a one-year production training couse in the Parisian film school, ESRA. She co-founded Campfilm in 2007, and has worked as a producer, and occasionally, a co-author since. Campfilm productions address social issues and have a strong cinematic quality. They have participated and gained recognition at both national and international festivals. Sara is an alum of Eurodoc, the Nipkow Programme, EAVE and DokIncubator, and a 2019 Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program Grantee. In 2018, she defended her DLA dissertation at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest.

Hanka Kastelicova
Executive producer, HBO Europe

Hanka Kastelicova is an executive producer of documentaries for HBO Europe. As an experienced and dedicated documentary filmmaker, she has lectured on documentary filmmaking, and served as a moderator and participant on numerous industry panels and other documentary events. Among the recent titles she has been involved with are: Collective, Something Better to Come, Toto and His Sisters, Chuck Norris vs. Communism, Cain’s Children, Train to Adulthood, and When the War Comes.
