Racism Globally and Locally

Roundtable
15 November 2020 - 6:00PM to 7:30PM

Reflecting on events happening both in Hungary and the United States, we ask, how do mechanisms of oppression relate to each other? What kind of feelings surround this issue and what are the narratives that arise in connection to these events? Is there solidarity in Hungary, and if so, what kind? Who is advocating for the Roma, ensuring that their voices are heard? We will discuss these questions with our guests in connection with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Participants:
Luca Wilson, cultural anthropologist, editor of MiaFemme Podcast
Ádám Kanicsár, LMBTQ journalist and activist
Judit Ignácz, civil activis

Moderator: Dezső Máté, Roma and LMBTQ activist, social sciences researcher
