Lost in Memories
Ruud Lenssen captures the transformation dementia brings to his elderly parents. His father, Jac, has created a little paradise with horses, chickens and a vegetable garden. He is determined to continue looking after it after his diagnoses as it offers him comfort and stability in an increasingly confusing time. Ruud’s mother, Ria, is concerned, and feeling frustrated and lonely with the increasingly intensive care of Jac, for which she must sacrifice parts of her own life. Nevertheless, she wants to take care of him at home for as long as possible. While Jac tries to cling to his paradise, the inevitable farewell is closing in. A touching film about love and the impermanence of life.
