On the occasion of the World Refugee Day, between June 20 and 23 we will show on our website The Wait, a documentary by Danish filmmaker Emil Langballe.
The film had its Hungarian premiere at the 14th Verzió Film Festival in 2017 where it received Special Mention from the Student Jury.
THE WAIT Emil Langballe / Denmark / 2016 / 58' / Danish, Pushto, Dari / English and Hungarian subtitles
She's smart, popular, and a natural talent on the soccer field, but 14-year-old Rokhsar is deeply distressed. Five years after fleeing Afghanistan for Denmark, she is still the only member of the family who can read and speak Danish, placing the burden of communicating with the authorities on her shoulders. Can a teenager bear such a difficult task?
On June 23 at 6 pm you are invited to join the discussion organized by Menedék Association. The filmclub of Menedék will hopefully continue in September in Bem Cinema, meanwhile we hope you can enjoy documentaries from a cozy sofa and do not forget to have a home is a human right.
For more info and the link to the Zoom call visit the FB event.
The Wait is also available for classroom screenings since 2018 within the frame of School Verzió. A handbook was developed for teachers to better facilitate the group sessions following the screening. As a teacher you can apply to the free screening at info@verzio.org, if needed we can delegate an experienced moderator as well.
