Family Movies
An ordinary day and a Facebook ad: in the attic of an old house in Cluj, two old projectors and some reels of film were found, abandoned. Digitizing the footage reveals family recordings: scenes of everyday life, anniversaries, holidays, visits, and excursions. The search for those appearing in the films is thrilling, and the result is an immersion in time, with family stories and dramas depicted through the visual aesthetics of 8mm film. A slice of lived history, personified and preserved by the film, which has miraculously survived.
