Become a Verzió Volunteer!
Application deadline: 7 October (Monday), 2024 --- Deadline extended until 13 October (Friday)!
The 21st edition of Verzió will once again celebrate the latest and best documentary films in the cinemas. Between 6-13 November creative documentaries from all over the world will be screened at various locations in Budapest and in other Hungarian towns.
Without volunteers Verzió wouldn’t be a vibrant festival. Volunteers’ work is crucial from the first year of Verzió. They help with preparations and the smooth execution of all the programs. Our diverse team shares similar values: respect for human rights and love for documentary cinema. Many volunteers return year after year, forming a year-round community around Verzió. Join us, meet filmmakers and learn about the hottest social documentaries at first hand.
We’re looking for volunteers to assist mainly with:
- Location management: provide information, collect audience votes
- Assist accompanying programs: VR screenings, DocLab workshop, round tables, exhibitions and concerts
- Promotion and communication: distribution of brochures in cultural and community spaces and promoting the program on social media and in other creative ways.
- Creative social media (Instagram) content production during the festival (photos, videos, stories)
- Video related tasks – recording discussions and presentations (own equipment required)
- Guest services: meet the filmmakers and other guests and help their orientation throughout their visit.
Between shifts, you can watch films, make new friends and enjoy the Festival! Volunteers will receive full accreditation to the Festival.
Criteria:
- general interest in human rights and doc films
- at least intermediate/conversational English knowledge
- commitment & availability: 15–20 hours during the festival week (min 4–5-hour shift per day) and participation at the orientation meetings (to take place on 14 (Mon) & 28 (Mon) October, 2024)
