A Pécsi Tudományegyetemen esztétika, majd a Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetemen filmrendező diplomát szerzett. Társalapítója és kreatív producere a DREAMPIRE nemzetközi audiovizuális álom gyűjteménynek. Kisjátékfilm rendezései mellett (Kút a Nap alatt; THREESOME) dokumentum- és portréfilmeket készít (CEU20; DREAMPIRE; A Sajdik; INFORG PORTRÉK; KIM; F – Az antennás ember). Jelenleg első nagyjátékfilmje előkészítésén dolgozik, valamint kreatív producerként támogat elsőfilmes projekteket.

A magunk módjára üvölteni

A DocNomads MA programjában végzett dokumentumfilm-rendezőként. A Levelek Anyámtól című diplomafilmjét a Magyar Filmhét legjobb filmjei közé válogatták. Jelenleg a budapesti Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem doktorandusza. Első, egész estés filmje, a Haragonics Sárival közösen rendezett Anyáim története több mint 30 filmfesztiválra kijutott, és számos díjat hozott el, többek között a Legjobb filmnek járó díjakat a Moszkva Nemzetközi Dokumentumfilm Fesztivál DOKeren és a linzi CROSSING EUROPE Film Fesztiválon. A film az HBO koprodukciójában készült el és a Sundance Post-production Fund támogatta. Asia jelenleg második, egész estés dokumentumfilmjén dolgozik, Nem haltam meg munkacímmel. Filmjeivel részt vett a ZagrebDox Pro, a CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator, az East Doc Platform, a Cannes Docs és a Docu Rough Cut Boutique fórumokon. A FREEszfe Egyesület tagja és óraadó tanára, valamint elnökségi tagja a Magyar Dokumentumfilmesek Egyesületének (MADOKE).

A forradalom felfalja gyermekeit!

1982-ben született és Kaiserslauternben nőtt fel. Frankfurt am Mainban színház-, film- és médiatanulmányokat végzett, majd a berlini Ernst Busch Drámai Művészeti Akadémián rendezőnek tanult. Munkáiban leginkább politikai kérdéseket feszeget. 2007 óta dolgozik szabadúszó rendezőként, 2013 óta pedig mélyrehatóan tanulmányozza az Afrikai kontinens politikai berendezkedését. Az európai kontinens és a volt gyarmatok közötti kapcsolatok, a gyarmatosítás hatásai és a gazdasági kiszolgáltatottság a fő témái Congo-Müller, Heart of Darkness, The Mission: Danton’s Death és Coltan Fever filmjeinek. Munkáit több alkalommal (2010, 2016, 2017) Nestroy Színházi díjra terjesztették, amelyet 2017-ben el is nyert a The Mission: Danton’s Death című dokumentumfilmjéért. A The Revolution Devours Its Children! első, egész estés dokumentumfilmje.

Magnus Gertten is a director and producer born in Limhamn, Sweden, in 1953. He was a television and radio journalist for several years before turning to filmmaking in 1998. He has made 15 documentaries for Swedish and international television, which have been broadcast and screened at festivals in more than 60 countries, and which have won numerous awards. He works as a director, producer, narrative consultant, and adviser for his film production company, Auto Images.

Erika Kapronczai graduated from the University of Pécs with a degree in aesthetics, then from the University of Theatre and Film Arts with a degree in film directing. She is co-founder and creative producer of the international audiovisual dream collection DREAMPIRE. In addition to directing short feature films (Well under the Sun; THREESOME), she also produces documentaries and portraits (CEU20; DREAMPIRE; Sajdik; INFORG PORTRAITS; KIM; F - The Man with the Antenna). She is currently working on her first feature film and is supporting first feature projects as a creative producer.

Howling Like We Do

Asia Dér graduated from the DOCnomads MA program as a documentary director, and is pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest. Her graduation film, Letters from Mom, was nominated for best short film at the Hungarian Film Week, and her first feature (co-directed with Sári Haragonics), Her Mothers, was co-produced with HBO and supported by the Sundance Post-production Fund. Her Mothers was shown at more than 30 international film festivals and won several awards, including Best Film award at the Moscow International Documentary Film Festival DOKer, and the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival in Linz. She has participated at ZagrebDox Pro, CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator, East Doc Platform, Cannes Docs, and the Docu Rough Cut Boutique. Asia’s currently working on her second feature-length documentary, I Did Not Die (Nem haltam meg), and is a member and teacher at the FREEszfe Association, and a presidium member of the Hungarian Documentary Association.

The Revolution Devours Its Children!

Jan-Christoph Gockel, born in 1982, grew up near Kaiserslautern. He studied theatre, film, and media studies in Frankfurt/Main, and directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. He has worked as a freelance director since 2007. His productions usually focus on political issues. Since 2013, Gockel has been intensely engaged with Africa, and the relationship between Europe and former colonies, the effects of colonialism, and economic dependency have become the themes of Congo-Müller, Heart of Darkness, The Mission: Danton’s Death and Coltan Fever. His works have been nominated for the Nestroy Theatre Award (2010, 2016, 2017), which he won in 2017 for The Mission: Danton’s Death. The Revolution Devours Its Children! is his first feature-length film.
