UniVerzió

In 2018, Verzió established a since then growing and increasingly popular cooperation with universities in Budapest. Verzió’s university cooperation program, UniVerzió offers students of film studies and related fields an opportunity to be a part of the festival not only as visitors, but as active contributors as well. Students deepen their knowledge about documentary films in the frame of university classes by engaging with various aspects of Verzió from critically analyzing the documentary and its representational modes to highlighting the films' topics by graphic design, or moderating Q&As.

VERZIÓ x ELTE

At the Department of Media and Communication Studies of the Faculty of Humanities at the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Media Studies BA students have been pursuing a course on human rights documentary film festivals led by András Müllner. The course provides an insight into the organization of a documentary film festival as well as the analysis of the film program. In the Film Studies DepartmentBeja Margitházi leads an English language class of Film Theory MA students who write an essay for their chosen film. Students of ELTE also practice their interviewing skills as junior moderators of Q&As with filmmakers.

The film reviews written about select films from the progam will be published on the VERZIÓ Blog during the festival.

VERZIÓ x METU

No cinema exists without colourful film posters.

We have a 4-year long cooperation with METU, exhibiting alternative film posters of the festival films. The Graphic Design MA students of Budapest Metropolitan University create the film posters under the mentorship of Krzysztof Ducki, and exhibit them at one of the festival venues. This cooperation gives us a chance to engage young people from outside the closed circles of film fans and human rights activists.

In 2021, this year's poster exhibition will be on display at Galéria Centrális, at Blinken OSA between October 29 and November 30.
