Free University

Born in the UK, Jonathan Hunter moved to Budapest in 2016, and studied documentary filmmaking and philosophy at Central European University. Hunter has made educational content, several commercial videos and short documentaries. He now works as a freelance filmmaker and videographer in Florence, Italy.

Hi, A.I.

Isa Willinger is a documentary film director. She studied directing at the University of Film and Television in Munich. She also holds Master’s degrees in Slavic Studies, North American Studies and Sociology. Willinger is interested in social change and the history of human ideas. She has contributed to the film magazine, Revolver, and is the author of a book on the films of Kira Muratova.

Minding the Gap

Bing Liu is a Chicago-based director and cinematographer. His 2018 documentary Minding the Gap has earned several award recognitions since its world premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. He is a segment director on America To Me, a documentary series examining racial inequities in the US education system. He was a member of the International Cinematographers Guild for seven years. Liu holds a BA in Literature from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Metamorphosis VR

Mika Johnson is a multimedia artist, concentrating on designing virtual reality experiences. Johnson also directs AR projects, music videos, commercials, and fiction and documentary films. Johnson has presented, lectured, and taught workshops across Europe and North America. Based in Prague, Johnson teaches workshops and classes at FAMU International and Prague Film School. He is also a member of the New York City based trio MomenTech: a multiplatform experimental production studio devoted to transnational progressivism, post-humanism, neo-nomadism and futurism.

Matangi / Maya / M.I.A.

Stephen Loveridge is a digital artist and filmmaker from London. MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. is his first documentary feature.

Lili

Péter Hegedűs is an award-winning filmmaker and academic whose films have received critical acclaim and have been broadcast around the world. After establishing his production company, Soul Vision Films, he made Inheritance: A Fisherman’s Story, based on an ecological disaster in Hungary. The film was shortlisted for the 2003 Academy Awards. He is currently program director for the Master of Screen Production program at Griffith Film School, in Brisbane, Australia.

Jawline

Liza Mandelup is a film director from New York currently residing in Los Angeles. She has published two photo books and has shown her work in numerous exhibitions. She has been a longtime collaborator with many online platforms, such as Vogue, Nowness, i-D, and Dazed. Mandelup was featured on Filmmaker magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film 2017”, and recently won the Sundance Film Festival’s U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Emerging Filmmaker.

Home After War

Gayatri Parameswaran is an award-winning, immersive journalist and creator from India. She is based in Berlin, where she co-founded NowHere Media. She likes to explore taboo topics such as war, domestic violence and abortion using virtual and augmented reality, and strives to use the VR medium to create realities for a desirable future.

Holy City VR

Nimrod Shanit is an award winning director and producer of feature-length fiction and non-fiction films. A veteran executive producer of international co-productions and a pioneer of the first completely integrated mixed reality production company, blimey, in Jerusalem.

Alexander Nanau is a German-Romanian filmmaker, born in Romania, who studied directing at the Academy of Film and Television in Berlin. His documentary film, The World According to Ion B, won an Emmy Award in 2010. His feature documentary film, Toto and His Sisters, was nominated for an Academy Award in 2015. Nanau worked as Director of Photography for the French-German documentary, Nothingwood (Sonia Kronlund), that was shot in Afghanistan, and which premiered in Cannes in 2017.
