Francois Tulikunkiko is not exactly a typical Russian farmer. He is, nevertheless, an enthusiastic Russian patriot. He is a dreamer with great plans who encounters obstacles everywhere he goes: from habitual indifference to all-pervasive corruption. Year after year, he tries to make ends meet and finds an answer to the vital question: Why do people in the Russian countryside live so poorly when the country is so rich?
