In addition to Budapest art cinemas (Toldi, Művész, Kino Café, Art+ Cinema), Apollo cinema from Pécs has been organising Pécs Verzio for the past 7 years. It is important to us that watching human rights documentaries presented at Verzio would not be the privilege of Budapest audience, that is why we have expanded the festival locations in 2016. We organised screenings in Barátság Cinema in Székesfehérvár and Grand Café cinema in Szeged from 17. to 19. November, 2016. The audience could watch a unique selection of Verzio films in these three cinemas.
Pécs, Apollo cinema
100-year-old Apollo is the first cinema of Pécs and the only art cinema of the region as well. Besides its unique selection of films, it is also a meeting point of free discussions, groups of people and cultures. The current programme is the result of thoughtful editorial selection, their choices are rarely based on marketing. Apollo’s ethical responsibility is to help us conceive the best of all possible worlds.
