The Coast captures life in a fishing village on the west coast of Latvia. The older generation lives alongside the younger, allowing traditional and contemporary lifestyles to continue in tandem. The filmmakers spent a summer in the village, living and working with the fishing community, becoming part of village life and observing it up close. The result is a film with a very personal attitude towards the characters, showing great interest in individuals in their natural surroundings.
