Debut
Eleven women serving sentences in a penitentiary in Belarus take part in a theater production. While long-term imprisonment fills the women with dread, especially about being separated from their families, stepping on the stage allows them to breathe fresh air. Their long-awaited premiere will take place at the State Drama Theater, allowing those performing to leave prison for a few hours and to appear in front of their relatives as something other than criminals. This is the moment of their "initiation", a possible debut into a new life. The story of the theater production searches for answers to the most complicated questions about the consequences of misconduct, and the high price of long periods of isolation.
