Alina is twenty and passionate about football. She plays for Kyiv’s only women's club and hopes to play for Ukraine's national team, but her duties at home prevent her from fully dedicating herself to sports: barely out of adolescence herself, she becomes a substitute mother for her young half-brother and sister. Alina's grandmother tries to help but she's losing her eyesight. There is no money and life is a mess. Alina is faced with the dilemma of choosing between football and her familial duties. Home Games is a film about making one's dreams come true when the odds are stacked against you.
