Director Róbert Lakatos leads this playful, parabolic film. Róbert, a Romanian citizen of Hungarian origin, keeps a Kuvasz, an ancient Hungarian breed, as a guard dog. He realizes that this breed is in danger of extinction and tries to help bring about a “Kuvasz Renaissance”. Discouraged by the Hungarian state’s breeding policies, he turns to the breeding program of the Transylvanian Hound. The film is a satirical allegory thematizing unresolved political and social issues.
