Songs of Earth
The mountainous landscapes of Norway provide the background for this magnificent, existential journey about life, death, nature, and simply being present in the world. In her lyrical and visionary poem to her homeland, director Margreth Olin embarks on a journey into these vast expanses with her ageing parents. Their family has always lived side by side with nature, even when the Earth’s primordial forces have been merciless. Her parents’ love and lifelong loyalty bear quiet witness to how our surroundings resonate with our inner space. Yet even the most rock-solid mountain cannot remain unchanged – certainly not in times like these.
