The 20th Verzió Human Rights Documentary Film Festival ended in cinemas on 29 November. More than 10 000 visitors attended the festival between 22-29 November 2023. The 20th Verzió's online festival program features 53 documentaries from the cinema program online. Films can be rented until midnight on 10 December and will be available for 14 days from the date of rental.

At the Award Ceremony on 26 November, Sunday, prizes and special mentions of the 20th Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival were announced in five categories: in the International Competition, the Hungarian Competition, the Student and Debut Film Competition, the Anthropocene Competition and the Viewfinder Competition.

The screenings will continue until 29 November in Toldi and Corvin cinemas, and between 30 November and 10 December online. 

The selected projects of the 8th Verzió DocLab

Verzió DocLab is an international, documentary, post-production development workshop for directors, producers, and editors, organized during Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, at Central European University, in Budapest. The goal of the workshop is to create an international supportive platform for documentary filmmakers and creative professionals from all over the world and region.

This year we bring you the 20th edition of the Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival! On 22–29 November, Verzió will present an exceptionally rich program, with more than 80 films and a fresh visual identity that aligns with this year's theme: Where are We Headed?

For twenty years, Verzió has presented human dignity and common social issues through international and Hungarian documentary films.
